Amboli is a picturesque hill station located in the Sahyadri (Western Ghats) range of southern Maharashtra. Known as the "Cherrapunji of Maharashtra" due to its heavy rainfall, Amboli is famous for its lush green forests, mist-covered valleys, waterfalls, and rich biodiversity. Situated at an elevation of about 690 meters above sea level, it serves as a perfect getaway for nature lovers, photographers, trekkers, and wildlife enthusiasts. Ashoka Waterfall, also known as Vihigaon Waterfall, is one of Maharashtra's most beautiful monsoon waterfalls. Located near Vihigaon village between Kasara and Igatpuri, the waterfall drops from a height of about 120 feet amidst lush green hills and forests. It gained popularity after scenes from the Bollywood movie Ashoka were filmed here, leading locals and tourists to call it "Ashoka Waterfall." The waterfall is especially famous for its scenic beauty, adventure activities, photography opportunities, and peaceful natural surroundings. The best time to visit is during the monsoon season from June to September when the waterfall is in full flow.

Lonar Lake is a unique saline and alkaline lake located in Maharashtra's Buldhana district. It was formed around 50,000 years ago when a meteorite struck the Earth's surface, creating a nearly circular crater in the basaltic rock of the Deccan Plateau. With a diameter of about 1.8 kilometers, Lonar Lake is one of the world's few hyper-velocity impact craters formed in basaltic rock. The lake is surrounded by lush forests, ancient temples, and diverse wildlife, making it an important destination for geologists, astronomers, historians, and nature enthusiasts.

Melghat Tiger Reserve is located in the northern part of Maharashtra's Amravati district, nestled in the Satpura Hills (Gavilgarh Range). Established in 1974 under Project Tiger, it was among the first nine tiger reserves in India and the first tiger reserve in Maharashtra. The name "Melghat" means "meeting of the ghats," referring to the region's numerous valleys and hills. The reserve is famous for its rich biodiversity, dense teak forests, deep ravines, rivers, and diverse wildlife.

Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve is the largest and oldest tiger reserve in Maharashtra. Located in the Chandrapur district, it covers dense forests, grasslands, lakes, and rivers, providing an ideal habitat for tigers and a wide variety of wildlife. The reserve is named after "Tadoba," a local tribal deity, and the Andhari River that flows through the forest. Known for its high tiger sighting rate, Tadoba attracts wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, nature lovers, and adventure seekers from across India and abroad.
