📜 History
Amer Fort is one of the oldest and most important forts in Rajasthan. Before Jaipur became the capital, Amer was the main seat of the Kachwaha Rajput rulers. The fort we see today was mainly built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I, one of the trusted generals of Mughal Emperor Akbar. Later, rulers like Mirza Raja Jai Singh I and Sawai Jai Singh II expanded the fort by adding beautiful palaces, courtyards, temples, and gardens. Amer Fort is not just known for its architecture but also for its role in Rajput history. The Kachwaha rulers maintained a strong alliance with the Mughal Empire, which helped them strengthen their kingdom while preserving their own traditions.
