Coming to the history, it was named after one British Collector, W.D. Horsley. This scenic destination is very famous for its pleasant climate, lush forests, and those giant eucalyptus trees. 📜 History
Horsley Hills, located in the Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh, was originally known as Yenugu Mallamma Konda, named after the local legend of Saint Mallamma, who is believed to have lived on the hill and was cared for by elephants. In the 1870s, W.D. Horsley, a British Collector of Kadapa, built his summer residence here because of the pleasant climate. The hill station was later named Horsley Hills in his honor. Before becoming a tourist destination, the area was inhabited by the Yanadi and Chenchu tribal communities. Today, Horsley Hills is one of Andhra Pradesh's most popular hill stations, known for its cool weather, scenic beauty, and rich natural surroundings.
