Situated in the Trikuta Hills near Katra, the shrine is dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi, who is worshipped as the combined manifestation of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati. The holy cave shrine is located at an altitude of about 1,585 meters (5,200 feet) above sea level and attracts millions of devotees every year.
