WaterfallAbbey Falls, formerly known as Jessie Falls during the British era, is one of the most visited natural attractions in Coorg. It originates from small mountain streams that merge into the Kaveri River.
The waterfall is especially powerful during the monsoon season, when the surrounding Western Ghats turn lush green. Visitors reach the falls through a short walk from the parking area via a paved pathway and steps.
A hanging bridge opposite the waterfall provides a panoramic viewing point, making it ideal for photography. Though swimming is not allowed due to strong currents, the location offers an excellent opportunity to experience Coorg’s natural beauty.
The area around the waterfall is covered with coffee plantations, pepper vines, and cardamom, adding to the fragrance and charm of the region.
