ZooLocated in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram Zoo covers about 55 acres of woodland, lawns, water bodies and enclosures. It was originally established in 1857 by the rulers of Travancore and is one of the oldest zoological parks in India. Today it houses a wide range of animal species — from big cats like Royal Bengal tigers and leopards to primates like lion-tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs, as well as deer, rhinos, birds and reptiles.
